Psychologist offering psychological services to adults residing in Ontario.
Welcome
Head & Heart Psychology
“Head & Heart” embodies my passion for working in the field of psychology as well as my approach to assessment and treatment.
The Head: I’ve always had an innate curiosity about the human experience and human behaviour. I am keen to understand the “why” behind experiences and behaviours, and I endeavour to truly understand my clients.
The Heart: I have a genuine and empathic concern for others. Regardless of the environment in which I work, I have found there is always a way to connect meaningfully and care deeply about my clients and their outcomes.
The practice of psychology generally involves healing the head and the heart via modalities that examine our thoughts and beliefs as well as our feelings and emotional responses.
The Head: Many approaches to psychology involve identifying, examining, and challenging automatic thoughts, deeply held beliefs, and rules we hold for ourselves, others, and the world.
The Heart: Other approaches focus more on exploring feelings, validating emotions, and healing the pain we feel in our hearts.

Assessment is the process whereby information is gathered in order to clarify presenting concerns, establish or clarify diagnoses, and/or to inform treatment.
Prior to commencing therapy, some form of consultation/assessment will be provided to clarify needs and expectations. This will involve an in-depth interview and may include the completion of self-report testing measures. In the event of a formal psychodiagnostic assessment, a semi-strucutred interview and a battery of standardized tests will be administered.
Fees will vary depending on the complexity, purpose, and type of assessment being provided.
I have extensive experience completing a range of assessments including psychodiagnostic assessment (for most clinical disorders), risk assessment, suicide/self-harm assessment, and psychological suitability assessment for selection.

I am passionate about continued education and sharing knowledge with others in the field. I am able to provide clinical supervision and mentorship to those seeking registration for autonomous practice or who need to work under the supervision of a registered psychologist.
-
I offer consultation to peers in the profession seeking support with specific cases, ethical dilemmas, and other aspects of professional development.
I have extensive experience completing screening assessments to determine suitability for high performance environments. I can provide leadership, teamwork, and professional development consultation to individuals and teams.
I provide a range of psychological services including therapy, psychodiagnostic assessment, supervision, and consultation. I am a registered provider for Blue Cross, Veteran’s Affairs, and WSIB. Services are covered by most extended health insurance plans.
